Ebills = no paper

Becareful if you start using ebills especially for SBC. Those bastards stopped sending me paper, and now I have to ask them (via website) for an electronic copy. It's one step better than contacting customer service. I am receiving an ebill with no automatic proof about what I am being billed. Bastards are hiding the facts about my phone and dsl, these dirty tricks just keep getting better. Hide the bill from customers, force them to deal with our website. Sneaky rat bastards, SBC (Sneaky Bell Consipracy) or (Swell Bunch of Chumps).

Wait, what?

My SBC eBill details all the same charges that a paper bill does. I don't see the problem.

I recently got a bill from AT&T (my long distance carrier) $4.97 worth of long distance phone calls, $22.16 on the bill.

It took me 5 days and a complaint to my states public service commission (of which my local representative is the state chair) to get even an explanation of my bill. End result of complaint and a lot of time: My new bill was $5.05.

My local telco is no saint either. They plead down to something else to settle felony fraud charges for making up charges and taxes several years ago. Then amazingly enough got an issue on the ballot to "let us keep the money and upgrade everyone to fiber optics in the home". Enough gullible people bought it and let them keep the money. I don't see any fiber in the home deployments here. I would not be surprised looking at my current bill if $5-7 of it was simply fraud and made up charges hoping that the public will never figure it out. Why? They did it before. Verizon did it before. MCI did it before. AT&T did it before.
There is a pattern of felony behavior.

I've re-read your post several times, and it's unclear.

When you sign up for SBC eBill, you agree that they will stop sending you a paper bill, and you have to go to the Web site each month to get the bill--which has all the same info as the paper one. I don't see the problem.

I also don't know what you mean by "I wasn't getting the electronic version of the paper bill." Do you mean that they weren't sending you e-mail notifications about new statements, or that you stopped getting a paper bill even though you weren't signed up for eBill at all?

Rarely do I defend this company, but as far as I can tell, the problem was on your end and they didn't do anything wrong.

The problem was caused because I start paying bills online via my bank, never thru sbc.com thus, I never authorized them to stop sending me paper bill. From nov 2003 thru feb 2004 I was receiving paper bills, no march bill, no april bill. So I decided to go to sbc.com and register. Note: They stopped sending me the paper bill without me registering on sbc.com. Just stopped. When i finally registered on sbc.com I had to activated the ebill thing (banks and sbc work funny) and went thru the no paper bill, which had already stopped, and after all that they still haven't posted detailed ebill.

the problem is not on my end, the problem is my bank and sbc. Thus the be careful statement I posted. Simple friendly advice, and you were compelled to defend sbc of all companies. You must have been bored.

That is because they live on the incomes of ignorant people. If everyone fought the baby bells your bill JUST LIKE THE CABLE BILL wouldn't go up so much. They live of the hard earned money of the poor fools who think that they have to pay what they charge. Remember one thing. Complaints to the Utilities Commission works. Here in Washington i received a check from MCI for nearly 200 bucks for the overcharges they charged me for not being a MCI member due to a glitch. I am glad i got that money back. But in this day and age of "lets rip the idiots off slowly so they don't notice" one day you are paying 5.00 for FCC tax then the next year you are paying 7.00 they are sneaky.

Look at your bills people watch them grow..

Soon the great depression of the 21 century will happen. Just wait and see

(I have zero faith in the economy due to greedy corps and rich people who refused to spend money on things they should . Stockpiling money is going to do no good when the American dollar will be worth 25 cents.)

I understand the problem now (aside from the "banks and SBC work funny" statement because I've used eBill for two years and have never had this problem), but SBC isn't going to post your first eBill online until your next billing cycle. None of your old bills are ever going to come up online.
