Not complaing really, I love the ADSL but it's one sided. I can download at up to 768 (usually 60kbps) but my uploads dog out at 128 (usually get 14.0 kbps). This sure sucks for running tribes servers and using napster GTE in CA uses COVAD. Is it really that hard to pump up the upload speed ? or offer an affordable (e.g. same price is bronze plus) symmetrical service ?

GTE runs their own DSLAMs for service. Covad is only used if you order from another ISP that uses Covad.
They don't offer the higher upload for the same price, because for a residential connection, 128 up is generally enough, and they don't want you running a server and using a higher level of bandwidth while paying the lower price.
