Yermo, CA | Automatic updating can be turned off in SP2 Automatic Software updating can be turned off in SP2, Just like one does with Windows Messenger(Not to be confused with WIM 4.x), As I was able to when I last had sp2 installed. The way to turn It off is at: Programs/Administrative Tools/Computer Management and then click on Services and It will appear there If You have It enabled in the settings for either XP Home or XP Pro. I can't remember which of the Services that handles It(updater?), But being It is a service It can be turned off.
