Profit holding back advances

I thought once upon a time we were the innovative country that would let nothing stand in the way technological advances. First in flight, Computers, Men on the moon. With things like this it is no wonder why we are being surpassed by Many other countries.

The sky is falling!

Where was DSL "invented"? Other countries are good at adopting and perhaps improving on the technologies the U.S. creates and implements. But I wouldn't call that innovation.

I'd probably get faster speeds on Mars than my shit DSL speeds at home. Time to move!

I believe that Nortel is embracing change to ADSL2 & ADSL2+

These Standards were approved over a year ago and chipsets have been developed and are being offered to the Baby Bells as we speak. With the drop in costs of implementing technology the business viability of this form of DSL is probably much better than what the Baby Bells offer now. Better reach, higher speeds, more products to be sold down the channels.

Here is a link to more info.
