davidgGood Bye My FriendPremium,MVM join:2002-06-15 none | it is simple to setup the cayman.
follow the FAQ and you will have it setup in no time.
the basics of it are as follows:
configure--WAN set the ATM to RFC-1483 bridged. turn NAT OFF set WAN ip to 66.105.x.x subnet 255.255.255.252 gateway ip = ???? they should have listed this. if not, leave it at 0.0.0
configure--LAN LAN ip 66.123.x.x subnet 255.255.255.248 DHCP server range 66.123.x.x subnet 255.255.255.248
you must click the yellow triangle at the upper right, and chose save and resatart IF it says validation passed.
this will allow for the ips to be assigned to each machine directly. sorry, but the user cannot use NAT when running a routed subnet such as this. you are limited to 5 devices behind the cayman. the only way around this is to put another router or 2 behind the cayman and hook the pcs to those routers, but this complexes the issue and requires the user have a little better than a basic understanding of networking to get it setup. plus, i guarantee you that the user will lose some hair in that instance! |
