 | Please Help I was wondering if someone could help me. I believe my line is capped at 384/down, I contacted Dsl tech support yesterday because i was losing my connection several times a week. They found a problem with my phone line and gave me a trouble ticket for my local phone company to fix the problem. Within an hour after talking to someone from SBC DSL tech support, someone from ASI contacted me and i was told that someone from ASI would contact me today to see if the phone line was fixed. I was also told that if the problem was an inside wiring problem that ASI would send someone out to investigate the problem. Futhermore i was told that once the problem was resolved that ASI would increase my speed. SBC fixed an outside wiring problem and later in the day ASI called to see if the phone line was fixed. I was not home when ASI called so i couldnt ask them to test my line at a higher speed. There is no number availble to contact ASI. I called SBC DSL tech support twice and was given the run around. 1st I was told that iam getting the max speed that iam paying fo(Up to 384). I called again and was told by someone else that my line cant handle no more than 384. I get now where with SBC DSL tech support and was told that they dont have a number for ASI. I realize that the closer u live to a CO or RT -the faster u speed. AFter reading these forums i see that they are people getting faster speeds than me that live farther from their CO or RT. IS there anyway i can get my line uncapped? Since an outside wiring problem was resolved, I would like to see if my line could handle more, however no one at SBC DSL tech support has been very helpful--------get different answers depending on who u talk to. I apologize for the long post, Any ideas for my next step? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you |

If it's SBC, they do have access to a tool that ASI provides to see the sync parameters on your DSLAM port.
You could also post in the SBC Direct forum too. |
