I remember seeing a comparison chart of VOIP providers and they had the DTA listed as supported for VP. I thought it was a fluke at the time.

And now it is real, with Packet8 latest firmware version the DTA can be used with almost any SIP based VoIP service, may be it is the time for 8X8 to start selling unlocked adapters, Packet8 still can control who connect to their service by mac addresses. |

Well my DTA-310 still working with FWD, 2 way audio and receive calls only, still can't dial out "dead air when dial"
jds17j, did you dial out ok when your DTA was set for FWD ?

Let us see, single port, limited codec, locked "but can go around it" if the Grandstream ATA-286 sells for $75, I will say a fair price for the DTA-310 is $50, the minute we have unlocked image file for this adapter it should jump to $75. |

The DTA is made only for Packet8, there is no reason for Packet8 to allow direct IP calling, even if there is an option to do so we will not be able to turn it on since the SIP configuration is locked, the only fields that we can change in the locked SIP configuration are the fields that we can see and change in the old firmware version, because of this topic I think Packet8 will force the new upgrades to default to packet8.net domain and IP server and so there will be no need to prevent firmware downgrade. |

But, yeah i could use FWD without any problems a while back with the DTA. I got Broadvoice though, so i just used the Sipura with FWD because i like it better and line 2 is unlocked. |

Good to know, I have PC-to-phone account with ICH, only for outgoing calls, so I can't tell but "jniamehr" got it working with Broadvoice. |

Re: [Equipment] Finaly got my old DTA-310 working with ICH Hope jd finds that screenshot soon want to test fwd in and out on my phone. See how good the sound quality is. Have been testing different things. Did get the what is you 10 digit account number that you got in your email to sign up message. Also noticed unless I just couldn't find it anymore that packet8 isn't offering the 75 dollar dta with free packet8 calling on their site anymore. Wonder if a person that had that and used the current old to look at the sip page what the dialplan would be, might help us since can use that service to also call fwd numbers. But also the 1234 firmware home page to makes sure it uses the same address and proxy as the regular packet8. goonierag |
