Forwarding X

I am attempting to forward an X session over SSH back to a machine behind my firewall. I have opened the ports on the firewall for the foreign IP, and set the LAN IP, but I can't connect.

When I run nmap from the remote host it tells me that the X ports are closed. I remember seeing this before I opened up the ports on my router. Is this standard Snappy behavior? Is there a way around this?

FYI,
Snappydsl.net does not block any ports on our network other than the netbios ports being exploited by ms-blaster virus.

Please confirm if your router / fire wall is configured correctly. Additionally some routers / firewalls need to be power cycled (reboot) before they will open up the ports configured.

If you wish to verify the above comment, plug your computer directly on the DSL modem with the appropriate configuration for IP or PPPoX connection, and you can verify that nothing is being blocked.

Needless to say, if you still need some assistance, feel free to call into technical support -:)
