Re: [wired] BEFSX41 Firmware 1.51.00 - POST YOUR RESULTS HERE Jan, unfortunately, this behavior has not been fixed by Linksys yet. In firmware 1.51.00, if SPI is enabled, then your logs will still not show the proper keyword/URL match. You then need to disable SPI to get this information right as in previous firmware . |

Re: [wired] BEFSX41 Firmware 1.51.00 - POST YOUR R Jan, I agree with Flogator. I made few tests with filters, basically everything's the same as in 1.45.7. Sadly. AliM |

Re: [wired] BEFSX41 Firmware 1.51.00 - POST YOUR RESULTS HERE Does 1.51 effect the Torrent lockup issue? Is the IM issue linked to the CS issue? Maybe connections are being reset?? |
|
 | reply to Flogator dunno i wish i knew stuff about programing lol, that cs/aim/irc disconnect/kick stuff is VERY annoying, i hope a fix comes out soon. |

4 edits | reply to Flogator Interesting feature not seen in V1.45.7 but is there in V1.51.00....
If you enable logs to an IP not yet connected, youre gonna have a devil of a time to get a display in the setup menus, until you connect that IP.
I'm finding far fewer white screens in V1.51.00 than in V1.50.18, but moreso that V1.45.7. But I can surf with V1.51.00 (DSL)!!!
Another frustrating point: Tell Linksys to move their screens over so that when I do a Printscreen I get the entire page, not just the Left 2/3 !!!! I like to print out my configuration pages, so that I can reference to them later, when I forget what I entered!!!
I'm in the process of connecting the BEFSX41 as I did with V1.45.7, and that is 2 Linksys routers in series....
Oh yes, if you force 3rd DNS (Enable Static, select DNS, store, Re-Enable PPPOE, re-store) it gets placed as first when you go back to PPPOE, and the Re-Connect takes longer than without it... It seems to help if you apply PPPOE settings more than once... ?? -- Looking for 1939 Indian Motocycle |

2 edits | reply to Flogator I'm finding that any of my links I had in Favorites to prior pages of the Linky before V1.51.00 (By that, I mean V1.45.7) now get lost after the login window. I've never seen this before in any prior version. Be aware..
Because of the above, has anyone found the BackupRestore options, or any other 'hidden' screens? -- Looking for 1939 Indian Motocycle |

4 edits | reply to Flogator The long name (in first post page in this thread) reset the router on first try (PPPOE--MTU at 1492) Anyone have an ftp site I could upload a 43mb test file to, so as to test ftp uploads? I did an 80Mb download test fine, from California... Speed seems same... (At Speedtest locations)However, with multiple computers connected through V1.51.00, it appears a bit faster on both computers... Gibson's port scan came up fine. Passed PCFlank's Exploit Test. Pingplotter works (I forwarded logs to a specific IP). Had to run off Advanced Firewall to get Logs to display keyword blocking... keyword Blocking works (only tried one filter). -- Looking for 1939 Indian Motocycle |

 | reply to Flogator Since I updated to 1.51 I've been getting errors in IE. Some pages refuse to load, I refresh the page and suddenly it does load. I run a proxy in my LAN and I checked its logs: Since I updated to 1.51 I've been randomly getting "socket error 10060 for connect[]" Whatever that error means... |

1 edit | reply to Flogator Multiple Speakeasy speedtests--no resets... (V1.45.7 was a 2 of 3 chance of reset with this-- same MTU). Made a few attempts at BackupnRestoreCfg.htm but I can't get past the login window...
A quesiton on time servers.... If I select one, does that ADD or REPLACE the one's Linksys programmed, and if so, which order does it do, the Added one first, then Linky's or ?????
I tried an IP address, and then a url, but neither indicated it worked in Wallwatcher.. Went back to Linky selected NTP Servers. Anybody confirm this, or supply a known IP that is OK? -- Looking for 1939 Indian Motocycle |

FlogatorPremium,MVM join:2003-01-19 Cantley, QC kudos:1 | Here is the scoop with respect to time server. If you specify a custom NTP server, then the router disable the other three hard-coded ones. Meaning if you use the default NTP servers, you've got three but if you specify your own, you only get ONE NTP server (the one you specify of course). I have tried to configure an NTP server both by IP and URL and they both work fine. Which NTP server did you use? |

eywong join:2003-12-14 Cupertino, CA | reply to Flogator Unable to "Restrict Access" during selected days and hours. For example, "Deny Everyday From 1:00 PM To 2:00 PM" allows access Internet during that time and outside that time. However, "Deny Everyday 24 Hours" totally blocks Internet access, as expected. (Yes, current time is correct on the BEFSX and the time server is updating the unit's time.)
I am trying to restrict Internet access only by MAC address. I have not tried restricting access by specific IP address or range of IP addresses. |

Re: [wired] BEFSX41 Firmware 1.51.00 - POST YOUR R About backup the config: page BackupnRestore.htm (without Cfg !!) works OK. The file it makes is a little different then one in 1.45.7 with same setup. It's not wise to mix them.
I must confirm Jan's ntp bug. Whatever you do, it will send request to 3 ntp servers plus 0.0.0.0 (see pict.) I tried with IP and name - the same. AliM |

I guess that is another reason to want Manuals indicating all new settings!!!
