Firewall option lost from web - P660HW-61

Hello,
Some days ago i picked up a new ZYXEL Prestige 660HW-61 DSL router.:D
No problems (including emule) setting up, except trying to
configure the firewall via browser.

I can configure filter rules using telnet, but the firewall option doesn't appear.Options available in 'Advanced Setup' are Password,LAN,Wireless LAN,WAN,NAT,Security,Dynamic DNS,Time And Date,
Remote management,UPnp and Logs .

Can someone tell how can access the lost option ?
Maybe some direct url like »192.168.1.1/rpFirewall.html ?;)

On the other hand, still thinking i need the newest official firmware available.
Box is equiped with V3.40(PT.0)b11 03/03/2004 firmware, but i can't change firmware to (PE.2)C0, downloaded from ZYXEL yesterday.

From the web, the error is:
ERROR: FAIL TO UPDATE DUE TO... The uploaded file was not accepted by the router

From telnet, the error is:
(console shows )Wrong product firmware!!
(console shows )Please upgrade the newest firmware version!!
(ftp client shows ) 552 Write error: -11

Can't downgrade from PT to PE version ?
If this version is a beta, there must be a way to load the official version, no?
I've also tried PE.0 version whitout luck.

By the way, does anyone knows the difference between 660HW-61 and 660HW-63 ?

Finally, a TRICK: via web browser, username is not admin, is '1234' !

Regards.

PT and PE means its for two different products.

P660HW-61 is ADSL over POTS ie Annex A
P660HW-63 is ADSL over ISDN ie Annex B

You are running a beta firmware on your unit, you should ask those that sold you the unit about the firmware.
Probably the old beta firmware you got does not have SPI Firewall added to it.

Hello JordiBond,
I can´t tell you for the P660HW-61 but for the P660HW-67 and 650HW-37 the creation of Firewall-Rule-Sets is only available by GUI/Webinterface and not telnet/hyperterminal. So, it seems your not missing an hidden option it is only not available ... may only now or general by design. Time or better future F/W will tell us As for the F/W you should follow Rizal advice and contact Zyxel.

Hello All,
First of all, thank you Rizal and havetoleavenow
for your responses.
I really appreciate the support obtained in this forum.

The reason cause trying to upgrade this firmware myself is because the router is installed a few hundred miles from the retailer store.

I'm investigating to find the way to enter in debug mode in P660HW-61,cause the router isn't equipped with a serial port.

I'm sure there is a way to enter in debug mode and upgrade to an official firmware version.

I've asked official support via mail without answer for now.

I've seen in the following url's the procedure to do it
using the console port via some Terminal Emulator software like TeraTerm or HyperTerm :

»www.zyxel.com/support/knowledgeb···21682046

It would be nice to publish the procedure for equipment without serial port.

Please, can anyone tell me how can i do this?

And finally, my personal contribution to improve the documentation:

In the user guide, chapter 35 'Firmware and Configuration File Maintenance'
there is the following statement in the 35.1 section:

'After uploading the firmware, see the ZYNOS F/W Version Field in Menu 24.2.1 - System maintenance - Information to confirm that you have uploaded the correct firmware version. The AT command you enter after you press "y" when prompted in the SMT menu to go into debug mode.'

Can someone clarify this ? I've tried get into CI mode from 24.4.22 ( Diagnostic ), but without prompting.

Regards.

hello,
if you can´t use the Update-Function of the Webinterface/GUI and you don´t have a COM-Port available at the 660 you can try TFTP. But I would recommend you to wait for the answer of ZyXEL, if you don´t get one by mail in short time I would suggest you to call them and don´t stop until you get an answer . May they changed the nescessary size for the update and you first need to flash it with an temp.-F/W to make that space available before uploading the (right) new F/W
wish you some luck
Greetings

1. Somebody sold you a unit with BETA firmware, you really should speak to them about that.
2. You say you got a PT.0 firmware and are trying to upgrade to PE.2, this will not work. Because PT is for 1 model of the P660 while PE is for another. You need to find a PT firmware upgrade for your firmware to be able to upgrade your product.
As you can see from your own post, your P660 says you are trying to give it the wrong firmware.
