Re: Hdtv. A monitor is not a television. I am talking about the standard for color tv in the united states. Comenly referred to as NTSC.
Everyone said TV's were a fad.
Oh, color tv? Who needs that new high priced crap. My monochrome tv is just fine!
We've been using the same NTSC standard since sometime in the 1950's when the final standards for color tv were approved by the FCC. |

1 edit | reply to Kommie About HD in Europe, yeah you shouldn't bother going there (thanks nez!).
In just 2003, over 70,000 HDTV monitors were sold in Europe, and is growing at a rapid rate. [source: Strategy Analytics]
Research firms also predict there will be nearly 17.4 million European households owning HDTV-capable TV sets by 2008.

And here is a shot in HD of the same game: »www.hothardware.com/reviews/imag···re1b.htm
Any questions? Heh.
If you still think standard digital is good quality, you either don't care about quality, or are really ignorant. |

Re: Hdtv. said by Kommie: said by Nezzie: yea japan didnt adopt it. oh wait one second, "Japan had the earliest working HDTV system, with design efforts going back to 1979. Japan began broadcasting analog HDTV signals in the early 1990s using an interlaced resolution of 1035 lines (1035i)." YIKES. oh and europe, "The EEC (later, the EU) established a European standard for HDTV in a 1986 directive (MAC)." YIKES. good thing you have no clue what you are talking about.
Whens the last time you been to Europe ? Show me an HDTV in a household.
And about Japan, sure they got standarts and are broadcasting it but are they USING IT ?
Actually yes. In Japan HDTV is heavily used which is why Japan created most of the push for Blu-ray and higher capacity home storage solutions due to the fact that if you try and record full quality 1080I HDTV on a regular DVD you don't get too far time wise.
As for Europe..no Adoption has been as slow as it has been here. -- Forum Posts:4326 |

Nezzie join:2001-09-16 Little Falls, NJ kudos:1 | reply to djdanska for people who dont have HD or haven't seen HD, they honestly cant talk. Switching back and forth through the Digital station and analog station, is like night and day. And the fact that the image looks so clear and can be seen on tv's from 30-82 inches makes it well worth it. unless of course you dont watch tv or care about how good it looks. but then people probably wouldnt want to see DVD's in HD resolutions because it doesnt make that much of a difference. yikes. |

Nezzie join:2001-09-16 Little Falls, NJ kudos:1 | from the responses that i read, it seems that he thinks HD does more harm than good and also that it would never catch on. price is a logical reason why people might not be ready to make the jump into HD. talking about acne scars is not. |
