 | I'm seriously considering changing to someone else. I just can't complain about how rock solid DSLI has been though. Up-time has been very good. Their communication, other than the bill, has always been nonexistent. |

Still no official word?

 | reply to gojeda I a sitting on the fence for a few more weeks, but I will not do so indefinitely. I suppose I am not alone.
BEllsouth's DSL-Extreme is very appealing. Better upload and download, static IP at a great price.
DSLi needs to move and it needs to do so soon. -- See where my mind is: »www.porcel.net |

eliasPremium,VIP join:2000-07-24 Miami, FL | From what I hear, DSL Extreme is only available as PPPoE, regardless of whether it's resold or direct through BellSouth.
So in a way, anyone wanting Extreme is stuck with PPPoE anyway.

eliasPremium,VIP join:2000-07-24 Miami, FL | PPPoE is like dial-up, where it needs to authenticate to connect. If you have a router, it's not a problem. However, if you're a standalone computer, you have to initiate the connection every time you boot, just like dial-up.
On the other hand, bridged is a straight connection, more reliable, less stuff in between.

scott001 join:2000-03-19 Pompano Beach, FL | Well I called DSLi this morning to check up on the 3 mbit offering and was told that there was no plan to offer it anytime soon. As a result of that I signed up with Bellsouth and will be up and running - hopefully - on Monday the 14th. For only $5 more a month it was an easy decision for me to make. |

Maybe I'll switch back when DSLi offers faster speeds. Luckily I have a BellSouth modem and don't need to sign their 1 year contract. |

 | reply to scott001 So how did BS DSL Extreme work out for you? Good? Bad? Ugly? |
|
scott001 join:2000-03-19 Pompano Beach, FL | Good so far. The only bad was they disconnected by DSLi service early Monday morning and I didn't get the bellsouth modem until Tuesday, so I had to live on dialup for a day.
The best speed I've gotten so far on the tests here is 2467/318, which is about double what I had before. |

kohn join:2001-11-30 Fort Lauderdale, FL | reply to AdelphiaKill Not good for me (sort of)...
After going through the whole process, I got a call from BellSouth saying that Xtreme wasn't available for me yet. It should be within a month or 2 but not now.
At least they didn't disconnect my DSLi DSL. So I'm sticking with DSLi and hopefully they'll have something sometime soon. |
