about ms "denying" responsibility....

i work as a tech at MSFT on the redmond campus. i dont work FOR MS but i work @ MS and i support their employee's w/ their machines. let me inform you that anything MS rolls out to the public is first tested by its entire corporation. that means all employee's and vendors have to run the latest beta software they are working on. we call it "dogfooding". i dont think MS would "deny" anything is their fault rather they would state that they haven't confirmed what the issue is. the issue you're speaking of, i know that it is a known issue amongst the dogfood user groups that i listen to so i highly doubt they are saying its not them when they know it is but just havent fixed it. or maybe they are. either way, it is an issue and i experience it on my tablet pc at work all the time. the only fix ive found for it is to either run 1 utility or the other. i have had many people w/ wifi issues with the orinoco, dell and intel wifi cards. once i removed the OEM's software, it worked fine. as for the cause, i am not sure, im not a programmer, just a tech and since people have work to do, i just fix the crap and report it, i dont figure out why it happened.

theres an old saying about a guy that goes into a dr's office and says "dr, my arm hurts when i move it up like this...." the dr. says, "then dont move your arm like that". if your wifi works w/ zero config in a certain way, then use that way until something is done about it....
