Anon | Apparently, hosting has different meanings... I signed up for SDSL through these folks and cancelled the very next day. After speaking with the sales reps, I was told that I could host my own site. When calling their network services division to ask for a pointer to be added to their DNS, they said that I don't have that option w/my plan. I asked why, I can host my own pages. They said that I could not host. After speaking with the customer service manager, their interpretation of me hosting is that they give me space on THEIR server to store my pages, and this server serves them up. So, according to them, that scenario is "me hosting" when in actuality, all they are doing is that they are hosting my pages. If they articulated this initailly, then there would not be a problem. |
