Re: [COMCAST] HDTV in Dallas MetroPlex

Kcharg,

I have sifted through this thread, and I hate to ask this since this probably has already been addressed...but, I have recently got the Comcast HD programming, I did not get the DVR box.

Question:

Can I request the DVR HD box and exchange it?

I'm in the Plano 75025 area, am I supposed to get the inHD programming?

Is Comcast going to be adding more HD programming to the current lineup? (Current at my location ~ ABC/CBS/NBC/ESPN/PBS)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes you can request the DVR box and have a Technician out to exchange it.

INHD is not open to Plano and Richardson due to some reasons that I am not a 100% sure of. Last I heard it was a lack of bandwidth, that might contradict the fact that you all were able to get PBS HD a week or two ago.

Discovery is already opened up in some Markets that Comcast is in. I read a report on AVSForums.com that mentioned that the Baltimore area has it already through Comcast. From my understanding it will be in the Base HD package, not as a Premium Channel.

I haven't been running very many HD Installs or Service Calls lately so I would have to ask some other technicians. I'll let you know.

@medcity.net

I've been using the HD service for a few months now. Recently I've been getting alot of breakup on InHD and now on all my HD channels.

I have on line dropped to the house. This is split to a cable modem and then the video feed is split once between my cable box (one side to the cable box, one side to a replay tv). Is this too many splits on one line for HD?

One more thing ... what's the ETA on the dual tuner HD-DVR's?

I've been asking around and no one wants to speak about it, probably because no one knows yet. I will let you all know when I have word on it.
