 | Watch your Snappy charge this month I just got a call from the credit card I use for my Snappy service. It seems that Snappy tacked on an extra 7+ bucks this month with no notice for the "pro-rated" USF charge all the way back to May.
No notice. No nothing. Last thing I got from them was the usual invoice on the 1st, showing only the 59.95 charge. Credit card charge comes through today for 67.47.
I called Snappy, and got the expected "we didn't want to do this, but they made us do it" line, and a long spiel about how "never in our history did we charge this".
I know they never charged it before. That was one of the reasons I chose Snappy in the first place. I understand that they may have to start charging it in the future, but I expect them to honor the contract I have for my service. I can't just drop my service without penalties, and I don't think that Snappy should be able to change the price without notice.
The main thing I object to is them adding the charge on with NO notice, and then not understanding that it is a problem for them to have done so.
They claimed to have sent out an invoice on the 10th for the difference, but I never received anything. |

 | Well now you see why I left in the first place after the USF deal was announced.
A, my contract SAID 59.95 a month, and it said nothing about adjustments to for fees that may come down the line. NOTHING. So I guess that contract I signed means nothing. Does it mean they could start tacking on Fee's for any reason and I can't cancel.
I cancelled, and I did get the 70 dollar charge. Thats ok, I submitted the emails and the contract(it was SO GREAT that they had you sign a PAPER one and fax it in), makes this much easier to deal with especially with the BBB and the states attorney office. After all, I just want my 70 dollars back...

Please see this thread for the discussion on USF fees, when the notices were sent out. »Recovery Fee?
Additionally you might want to make sure that we have your proper contact information on-file. |
