 | Whats in a Revoltion? Well, IM still wondering about the "Revolution." Nintendo said that it would change the way games were played. What does that mean. I try to think of what they could possible do to change the way games are played but I can't think of anything. I look at the DS and I never thought of that when they hinted at another console/handheld. I read this post on another web site: "Now this is just from me and my own head, so don't take this that I heard this anywhere else on the internet but there was a recent mailbag on CUBE.IGN.COM where IGN hinted that they have no idea how the new "Revolution" from Nintendo would look or what would be so unique about it. But IGN is always giving hints and it would seem no different in this case. They said, and I quote, "And the company keeps dropping hints that Revolution will not be a traditional video game system as know them; it may not require players to sit in front of a television with controllers." I hadn't considered it before, but maybe their next console is hoping to latch on to their GBA market. Maybe the next console will allow you to use your console on the TV, but also use it as a handheld? Kind of far-fetched, but the GC is already semi-portable as far as size and carrying, maybe they are going to cram it down to the size of a portable DVD player and allow you to play either way. That would be awesome. Maybe the system is the controller and you can either play on the attached screen or hook it up with a TV out. Maybe the rumored specs we've been seeing with the new GBA (which supposedly dwarfs the DS and the PSP) due out in 2006, same year as the N5, are in fact a hybrid console."
"I doubt it's true because Nintendo has always been more successful in the handheld market than they have in the consoles. Why would they want to risk that success. Still, something to think about." »mb9.theinsiders.com/ffanhomefrm1···38.topic It a good idea but it's just an idea. I want to hear some other opinions of the revolution might have in store for us. We all know that the PS3 and XBox 2 are going to be the same just with better hardware. (Unless I have missed something.)I want to see your creative side. I want to take in all possible ideas. Even if it is crazy!! | | | Cube IGN has heard that the Revolution will be able to connect to your computer screen. (A guy at ATI told them.)They also talked to someone that is working on REV (Revolution) and they said that REV won't have any kind of screen on it. As to what the revolution might have, well I think it would be cool if it had wireless technology integrated into it. You would then,(like the DS) be able to connect to a wireless connection to play with people thouands of miles away. Also, you could do the whole wireless LAN thing but the cool thing would be if when you turn on your REV with a game that has LAN ability, that it will atomaticaly look for any other REVs with the same game running. Then you could send a instant message to that person and ask them if they would like to play. If they accept then you can start playing atomaticaly with out any cords or having to setup anything like ip addresses. Im not very good at the whole networking thing so this might not even be possible. | | |
