Sync Problem - Alcatel Speed Touch Home

It took me 2 days to realize that my DSL modem wasn't sync'ing because there was a problem with the phone line. I wasn't getting any dial-tone. Now that the line is working again (or so it seems), my DSL doesn't work. It goes through the self-test (power led flashing), then the line sync flashes and becomes solid. The next thing I see is the line RX & TX blinking at the same time. You might say this is normal if my computer was transmitting but there's NOTHING connected to the modem. So what's sending/receiving on the modem?

As anyone seen this before? I can't find any reference to this in the manual... what's going on? Could this be an indication that the modem is malfunctioning now? And if so, is it possible that whatever knockout my phone service was also responsible for my modem being broke now?

Thanks

Faisal0

Egravel,

The RX & TX Lights being happy happy by themselves is not a good sign.

Since you are in Miami, if you pass by our office with the Modem and powersupply we can quickly check it for you.

Hey Faisal,

That's exactly what I was planning on doing today after I get out of work. I work on Sunset and 62 ave so it's not too far away, right? Take sunset to 72 ave and then all the way to 48 street.

So, have you seen this situation before? What does it mean when these lights blink together for no appearant reason; no devices connected?
