Re: agree with FatBastard2 _______________________________________________________________ Why don't we talk about clinton and his economic failure? _______________________________________________________________
Economic failure? Clinton was the first US President in over 60 years to leave office with a surplus. That surplus was 2.5 trillion dollars. We now have a deficit of more than 3 trillion dollars. Do you want to tell me where that 5.5 trillion dollars has gone since Bush took office???? |

too bad that none of these went into our pocket when clinton was president or put any of us in debt anytime soon while bush is president... If bush was such a bad president like most say, he'd be impeached in less then 2 years! remember y2k??? it was fake just like Clinton's surplus |

First off it's public record regarding the surplus. Why don't you show some proof it's fake. So you want some of that money? I hope you enjoyed that $300 Bush gave you because that was it. Considering how much he spent in office he should have kept that money where it is (but you do what it takes to make people I like you I suppose). You want to talk about debt? More people are out of a job and in debt now than since before I can remember. There was a recession during Bush Sr.'s term and it was nowhere near as bad as this. |

The fact is, more people have become lazy as well. If they would just bust their butt like during Clinton's era, everything would be mighty fine just like the old day |

I'm assuming you're kidding, because if that's your serious response then you definitely haven't done your homework. There are several reasons why jobs are fewer now.
- Corporations like AOL, Enron and Anderson Consulting that abused the lax financial reporting practices (inacted in Bush Sr.'s term) finally have those lies caught up with them and are hurting big time. To make up for the losses major cutbacks were done and offices closed down.
- Many major companies, especially in the various entertainment industries, have been merging and acquiring each other. The end result is the company that was absorbed loses jobs. Sometimes lots.
- Offshoring jobs to countries with cheaper labor. It has been done before, but since 2000 it's almost become fashionable for corporations to take away American jobs and give them to someone for a tenth of the cost. The problem with this is most these companies don't need to save that money. They are just placating to stock holder greed.
- 9/11. Can't really fault anybody for this, but the fact of the matter is the financial center of our country was blasted away. That will have an effect on our economy. Keep in mind though we were in a recession before that happened.
That's all I can think of offhand. To just say people are lazy and don't want to work is stupid. Would you rather not work and at the same time have no home or food on the table or would you rather work and be able to support yourself and maybe a family? |

 | Re: disagree with FatBastard2 That maybe true but having more jobs and more money does mean that everyone is more fed then they were before. You're talking about materialistic here that is nonexistence. if you have a billion dollars and their is nothing buy, what use is that? |

Why are we so crazy about money? It's quite worthless in itself cause some have half ass greedy scumbag will try to sue you for it. Just like with Michael Jackson's child molestation law suit. |

 | Money is a convenience. A way to measure value for goods and services. Hopefully there will be a future will someone's needs are taken care of without resorting to a system that gets abused by material greed. Some of the happiest people in the world are people with hardly any money. |

most money is made illegitimately, poor service or just bloated altogether. we don't have a fair trade here, we have those who like to rip others off just for more money. why do some that work most hard get pay the least while some that hardly work at all get pay the most? this is what I am referring to.. |
