Here is where Bellsouth is on this, from this very site a few months back:

This is a trial, but if it works out well, I would expect ti to be expanded. Probably not in smaller cities, but into most of the larger ones.

The article is not about Hotspots, but about DSL CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) that has Wireless included.

Unless I've read it wrong.
