After a year and a half I've given up on SBC. True, my problems are probably cause I'm over 12K feet from the CO but SBC doesn't even offer dialup at my other house so I doubt I'll see a closer CO anytime soon.

Right now I'm running at a cool 3Mbps with no problems at all for the same price as SBC. I'm still running with my 2Wire home phone network. Haven't lost a connection all day.
