Re: [Cable] Who gets 100% Digital Channels on Cable? no one does as of yet.. the fcc has man dated as of january 1, 2007 that all networks provide at least a digital signal or 1080i(hdtv) across the US. In other words analog channels will no longer exist. It is on the way just a matter of win. Fcc has pushed this date back a few times already..
so only time will tell.. hope this helps a bit.

To clarify this, the FCC has mandated that broadcasters send out a digital signal, it does not mean any form of HD. It can be SD(480i) and be digital. There is no ruling for any time frame for any cable company, they can do what they want with their channels. |

1 edit | reply to 58483323 lost you..what doesnt apply to cable companies..it applies to cable companies to the fact that they will be in the customers eyes the reason why the change is happening..
But yes it applies acroos the US to all cable companies. They are just a distributor of the signals, all in all it will be one major change for all networks and cable providers..
hope that answered that, I am trying to find the article of the fcc mandates on www.fcc.gov.. |
