Re: DW6000 reset utility My fear is that the NOC MAY shut your connection down if you do too many resets in a short period of time. Then you would have to call Support and jump through the hoops to get back up. Playing with the utility last night, I did 3 resets in about an hour's time with no problem.
You can probably do a reset once a day, but I would do it only as needed to clear a problem. When you do a reset you clear the DW6000's counter's and stored values such as X-pol isolation numbers, Number of Successful Transmissions, Number of Failed Transmissions, Frames Received, etc. Sometimes that info is handy to have.

When on the road it is not uncommon for me to deploy my dish 3-4 times per day, and each of those deployments involves a reset for lat/long update. I've never seen any indication that the NOC knows, or cares.
Even when stationary on road trips I usually have one "hard" reset per day because the modems are often off overnight to conserve battery power. -- XP Pro | G11 | 1350 | 4020 Plus II | Datastorm Mobile | | SpinnakerOk, But What Is The Speed Of Dark?Premium,MVM join:2002-12-08 Holden, ME | said by dbirdman: I've never seen any indication that the NOC knows, or cares.
