I just got MCI DSL working at home (Los Angeles Pico-Robertson area). Its download speed seems to top out at 40K/sec (320 bps), much slower than the "up to 1.5Mbps" that they claim in their literature. What is your experience?

Many/most of us get close to the nominal speed.

You probably have an issue with you line - call technical support.

Sounds like you are a recent install and you must be some distance from the CO. They assign your line speed based on the distance to the CO. Give it a few days to make sure you stay solid then call them up, have them check your line parameters and if you are ok you can ask to be bumped up. I'm over 12K from the CO and they bumped me up to 1.5/768 because they saw my line would take it. Not bad for $20/mo I'd say!
