rugged gps antenna

Hi gang

I'm looking at building an in-car computer, around one of the via eden or c3 based boards

I'm trying to figure out the best gps solution right now, that I don't need to worry about after its installed.

theft issues aside, I'm looking for an antenna (with or without built in receiver) that can be left on the dash or even outside within the bed (truck), 24/7 ... so up to 120F+ in the sun, windows up, worst of noon day sun in summer (black will self heat probably to around 140-150) and as low as probably -20F in the worst of winter (got some nice extremes there right?)

So, that rules out anything with a built in receiver, like the cheap usb dongles or serial dongles... so that leaves devices which accept an external antenna.

anyone with experience with this, please share your input!

Gordon

Been brain-washed lately? Remember, CNN is available 24x7 on the air and online - scrub scrub scrub!
