7004VBR: Bit Torrent. I read alot, but still slowHi, got a 7004VBR. And a few PCs/ Macs. 384 kbit SDL. This thing does not accept the 1.32 firmware and needs ages to connect. And Bit Torrent ist dog slow. I wasted this day for surfing around how to get BT working correctly. my client is azureus. rates are 0-4, sometimes 8, even 20kb/s for a few seconds. I have about six torrents running with about 25 seeds and 20 peers each. A friend of mine reaches 210 kb/s on those.I rarely get 3. So i did that port forwaring, ports 6881 to 6889 to my IP (dhcp but thats not important). I even tried to figure out that "trigger thing". Can somebody please give me a working configuration? Thanks allot. Patrick |

Re: 7004VBR: Bit Torrent. I read alot, but stillSome ISPs throttle bittorrent's standard ports to nearly 0k/s. Try setting your client to listen for bittorrent on any random port that is NOT between the range of 6881 and 6999. One client, such as BitTornado implements this random port listening feature, by default, and I think does it between ports 10000 and 50000. If all other peers do the same, it becomes a lot more difficult for ISPs to throttle bittorrent traffic. Also, since clients can listen on any port and the same is true for trackers, port triggering won't work very well unless you basically trigger for every port, so static port forwarding is better. |
