EVDO 5220 in new cities for Mac Linux and PC Sprint and Nextel are currently experimenting with engineers to get funding. when they get funding they will have to get fcc approval. then they will have to get shareholder approval. then they will have a race against implementation curve vs obsolescence.
While Sprint and Nextel as well experiment with "skip generation" technologies. Verizon has already delivered broadband speeds to both coasts using a 5220 Sierra aircard. Just last week, We announced that
Nationwide Rollout will begin immediately.
I personally know that development of a 2.4mbps dsl+ wireless network has been in construction for over a a year now.
