| I've searched high and low....and found only one other person with the same error. The recommended fix below was provided by one of the MS newsgroup regulars, Lucy (MSFT):
For this error try the following:
Register MSXML3.dll
1. Click on the Start button
2. Click on RUN
3. In the Run box type regsvr32 MSXML3.dll (without quotes)
Click OK -- Drag me, drop me, treat me like an object! |

tim006 join:2002-09-27 Lake In The Hills, IL | Got the same advice at TechNet, did it sucessfully, but update show same error. Since this rc2 is v2149, I went ahead regsvr'd xml 4, also sucessfull, but still no luck, I also did everything in internet explorer tools: del files, cookies, offline files, trusted sites config, all with no luck. Last night I uninstalled sp2, then uninstalled every single hotfix, one at a time. Re-installed sp2rc2 and update is still the same. Is it possible that I need certain services running? Auto update is running and set to auto start, rpc, sys restore etc. are running, just wondering if there is a service I don't know about. I did find a thread about this error code on technet, but no help. Thanks Tim |

| What services have you disabled?
Also, have you attempted to remove\reinstall the iuctl.dll and iuengine.dll? These should be removed from :\Windows\System32\Dllcache and :\Windows\System32. -- Drag me, drop me, treat me like an object! |
