Bethesda, MD | Real fiber going up in Montgomery Co. Maryland We'll I'm neither a Verizon cheerleader nor a satisfied customer, but I can say that over the last couple months Verizon's been putting up real fiber on the poles in my suburban neighborhood in Maryland, just outside DC. I talked with the linemen and the schedule they gave was that it should be lit at the end of the year. This is an older neighborhood, so they are doing everything from scratch, piggybacked right onto the old copper. I do live pretty close to a CO, so that probably has something to do with it getting going now, too.
