Greetings,

WRONG

Nitpick.

I've never used the term 'kibibit', have you?

Some people think I'm an idiot. I disagree, but idiocy is subjective--so they may well be right. With this in mind, take everything I post with a grain of salt, eh?

Please then don't say a kilobit is 1024 bits, because it isn't. Let me know the day you start setting standards.

Okay, then let me edit my statement:

There had always been 1024 bits in a kilobit until some people decided that they wanted to make things more confusing than they already were.

That would mean, of course, that there always had been 8192 bits in a kilobyte, but now there is either 8192 or 8000 bits in a kilobyte, depending on who you ask.

Excuse me? You do know what kilo means correct? 10^3 of something. Before, they were using the term incorrectly, hence the corrections needed to be made. This in fact should've removed the confusion because people know what a kilo means; a 1000, not 1024.
