 | wow? With wide eyes and anticipation of my speed test results showing that long red line climbing past the 1mb barrier, 2mb, possibly even 3, I woke at dawn and ran to my computer. Like a child on Christmas morning, hoping Santa Cox would bring me the present I have been wishing for. I eagerly awaited for the computer to come on and then the speed test results.
978 down 115 up.
Still the same old slow speed for us in northwest Arkansas.

LOL. Brings back memories. For my 8th birthday, my mom gave me HE-MAN UNDEROOS in front of all my friends...
I don't think I've forgiven her yet for that one -- HyperJoe 2004 |

 | reply to razorbackfan I too am from northwest arkansas and was very disappointed to wake up to nothing at all.
well i called up cox and the rep told me we are definitely getting a speed increase, but it will be in a few months closer to the end of the year. the speed increase will be for Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana first.
as far as how fast or how much the speed will increase, the rep had no idea or was not allowed to say. hopefully it will be at least comparable to what the rest of the cox nation is getting.
just dont expect anything to happen anytime soon. |

AVOID COX IN MIDDLE AMERICA. THEY ARE A RIPOFF IN MIDDLE AMERICA!
As for me, I AM voting with my wallet. I'm out, and will investigate a way to drop TV too. Enough is enough. -- Note to SBC: Please light up my RT! I want a new broadband provider! |

 | To my Benton County neighbor...I would love to avoid Cox, but the part of Fayetteville I live in doesn't have DSL available, and I don't care for satellite (lag time). Cox is all there is. At least it's better than the 26k dialup connection I had. |
|
 | I too am at the very edge of the qualifying distance to the local CO for DSL, so if I did decide to go that route, then I would have a slower connection and probably packet loss like a friend of mine who is in a similar situation and signed the 1 yr contract with sbc yahoo and hates it!
We have been on the ass end of cox for the longest time. I have been waiting for an upgrade for at least five years waiting to go from 1 mbit to 1.5 mbit then to 3 mbit and now 5 mbit.
Dont know how a company can offer very different services for the same price as they offer at different locations. |
