I currently was on the 3000/256 tier and Cox upped my speeds to 5000/512 last night at 11pm CST because my modem rebooted twice. The download speed is between 4400 to 4700Kbps and 435-509Kbps up. Webpages load very fast by the time that I click on the mouse, it's because I have been used to 3000/256 since September 2001 that I don't know how it's like to have anything faster than 3000/256. Premier tier is capped at 5000/768, I'm not sure on value tier. I feel very bad for the redhead stepchildren of Cox MAC. If I lived in Cox MAC, I would move somewhere that have real broadband speeds. |

If Cox is going to charge 2x as much for the premier, MAKE IT 2x as fast! The premier package should be 10/1 for $80 a month.
OTOH, the Preferred package at 5/512 is a good value at $40. -- HyperJoe 2004 |
