Power is in the hands of government - who, as I was dutifully taught in school, always represents the best interest of the common man. Ours is a, erm, *functional* democracy. Most Americans would help too. What a waste of resources. We need a loser pays law system so that the RIAA would have to fork over large sums of cash when they lose these lawsuits.

Here both sides pay their own expenses. (Under some circumstances the loser may have to pay court costs, which is a very small part of the total costs.)
