Bellsouth to SnappyDSL

Hi, After Bellsouths recent blocking of port 25 and 53, I've decided to start shopping for another ISP.

Can someone comment on these topics?

1) Does SnappyDSL block any ports inbound or outbound? Can I run servers or non-commercial (personal) use?

2) How are the news feeds for binary's?

3) How is the reliability in the Atlanta/Marietta Area? (I'm in 30062)

I made the move last year (about ths time).

1. No ports blocked.

2. I have no experience with the binary groups. Overall, the news service is much better than BS, but overall not that great.

3. Dont' know. South Florida here.

Overall, I am very satisfied with Snappy. I would highly recommend making the move.

Hello !

Here are the answers:-

1) Does SnappyDSL block any ports inbound or outbound? Can I run servers or non-commercial (personal) use?
(no ports are blocked other then those connected with the nimda/code red virus)

2) How are the news feeds for binary's?

Recently, news server/ service was out sourced to Giganews !

3) How is the reliability in the Atlanta/Marietta Area? (I'm in 30062)

This would be as good as anywhere else on our network. The upstream provider was recently changed to Internap, going across multiple backbones, (improved reliability, routing and lower latency).

Hope this helps -:)

Bravo on that move to Internap!
