How do I set up SETI Spy so that it works with SETI Driver?
Use the following procedure (courtesy of SETI Driver's Mike Ober):
Start SETI Spy, ignoring any errors it reports.
Go to the Client page and click the Configure button to bring up the Client Configuration window. Then, set the following:
Client Path: Click Browse and select SETI Driver
Client Parameters: -SETISpy
Enter "SETI Driver" (without the quotes) in the Client Window Title box and check "This is the full title".
Uncheck both Keep Alive boxes.
Uncheck "Hide Client after Restart".
Check "Start Client on SETI Spy start".
Check "Restore client minimized".
Check or Uncheck "Stop client on SETI Spy exit" - your choice.
Click the OK button.
Go to the Setup Client page and check "Ignore presence of state file on startup".
Exit and restart SETI Spy. This should start SETI Driver configured in such a way as to feed SETI Spy information.
Bring up SETI Driver's dialog from the system tray and configure your processing configuration and proxy/socks server information. You must leave the Use SETI Spy option checked. Minimize SETI Driver and then right click on the SETI Driver icon and select "Save Configuration".
Take SETI Driver out of your startup group and put SETI Spy in it.

Wow....I looked over the pictorial instructions and they look GREAT! :) Thanx for such DETAILED instructions!

Now, I MIGHT give SETI Driver a SECOND try, but only AFTER this WU is complete and a new one comes in!

Oh yeah, got another question. If I want to run the CLI @ startup, which one should I put in the startup folder? the SETISpy, CLI, SETI Driver, or all of them or whichever 2??

Right now, I only have the SETISpy in the startup folder because that also starts up the CLI...

Ok, so for example, if I want to use SETI Driver AND SETISpy with the CLI, which one would I put in the startup?? The SETI Driver? And will it startup the SETISpy and the CLI together as well?? Or do I have to put both SETI Driver and SETISpy in the startup??

The only thing you need in startup is SETI Spy, O.K.? You did the step by step setup by my pictures? The instructions I posted are for using SETI Spy to Start SETI Driver that starts the CLI. In that order.

Hey! I think that it actually worked! :) I set it up as you did in your picture and now I think it's working fine! Thanx a LOT!! So now I just leave it and once it's finished a WU it'll automatically send it in and bring back a new WU? And if the Berkeley site is down I can keep on crunching away? After it's back up, does SETI Driver send it back itself?? Again, Thanx very much!

Glad to hear that. Yes, it will send all by itself if you have "Auto Transmit" checked in SETI Spy. After sending, it will also download a new WU to replace the finished one.

How many WU's did you cache? I used 9 as an example, but you may need more or less depending on how fast your system crunches. Usually try to keep 7 to 9 day's worth on your system and you will be fine.

Yes, you will cache and crunch while Berkeley is down (hopefully not often . Also, SETI will restart automatically when you reboot as long as you have a ShortCut to SETI Spy (just SETI Spy, nothing else) in the StartUp folder. I'm glad to have been of help to a fellow Teammate!

Yes, as soon as I saw the 9 in the cached field, I figured that your computer must be very fast and can probably crunch 2-3 WUs a day. So I changed that to 5 (I was thinking about 3) because I only crunch on average about WU a day
