Switch times from Verizon? IPs?

Hi -

I currently have a dsl line from a company that uses my ILEC, Verizon. I'm interested in switching to BritSys, but I can't afford to have my mail and web servers down for very long.

Has anyone made the switch from Verizon to Worldnet or Covad?

Also, how does BritSys dole out IPs? Is it a consecutive CIDR range (ie, /29) or are they pulled from a pool of available IPs?

Thanks.

Depending on where you are located we now offer ADSL on a dry loop that can be installed next to your existing ADSL line, once its complete you can cancel the old ADSL line.

This will ensure minimal downtime.

The alternative is to migrate your line, this may result in a few days downtime if you only have one phone line we can use.
If you have a second active phone line we can order regular ADSL on that line.

Hope that helps

Can you tell me more about dry loop installs?

I'm in 914-737-xxxx and have dsl on this line. I do have a second line, 914-734-xxxx, but it shows different speed availability.

Thanks.

Your central office has Covad equipment installed which means you should qualify for the "dry loop" ADSL as long as you are within reach.

The "Dry loop" ADSL is provisioned like IDSL/SDSL lines, its then connected to other equipment in the central office to simulate a real phone switch without the need for having an active phone line with dial-tone. Covad sends out an onsite tech to install the line and configure the bridge/router.

You can email or call our sales dept and they can qualify the line for you to see if you can get the "dry loop" ADSL.
