fbruno join:2000-04-06 Berwyn, PA | [MCI] Moving from Speedstream 5100 to Cisco 837 Moving from 5100 to Cisco837 I have ADSL service from MCI as part of their comprehensive residential package. It is a good deal at $19.95 a month for the DSL. They provided a SpeedStream 5100, part number 060-E141-A0S.
I do not have to use PPOE or any username to logon. This is a straight plug it in and get a DHCP address situation. Just like the good old Northpoint days.
I am trying to cut out the 5100 by using a new Cisco 837 ADSL router. It is a very nice unit, with a strong integrated firewall and VPN support. It would be even nicer if I could get it to work...
Here is the issue. I need to enter the ATM VPI/VCI information that will work on this MCI provided DSL connection. Since this 5100 is just a bridge, I have no idea what those values might be. I have so far tried the usual 0/35, 8/35 values.
Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions on how I can continue working on this issue. Many thanks for your help. |
