I've been having problems connecting for over a year.
At first I thought it was a routing problem at citibank's servers. But I never noticed any posts on the internet about problems with citibankonline.com Now I've asked a few people using different ISPs and they've all can connect to www.citibankonline.com without any problems.

that is their webserver for online account access.
I'm on MCI in NYC, can anyone else verify if they have this problem? |

Park Ridge, IL | I use Citibank online almost daily. No problems here.
Their webserver probably doesn't responde to 96 byte ICMP requests and that's why your last hop is timing out. |

If it was just icmp packet blocking I'd still be able to connect to the server but it doesn't load at all.
IE would say "Cannot find server or DNS Error."
There is definately some routing and dns problem.

the IP that the DNS is pointing to that you use is correct, but just got kicks, which DNS servers are you using, switch them to
198.6.1.4
216.183.96.115
and see if that helps anything

wow.. uu.net sucks big time.
I've had problems with dns requests that always timed out in the past. But now we can blame this citibankonline problem on their dns servers also. I was using 198.6.1.122 198.6.1.6
Now I've noticed ALL dns servers from uu.net don't actually work properly. It takes 2 or 3 requests to get a good response. As soon as a switch to another ISP's dns server, www.citibankonline.com magically worked! |

Your second one, ns1.den03.inflow.net, was reliable and it isn't a uu.net server. So that is probably why citibankonline worked when I tried it. I've switched to speakeasy's dns servers and I'm going to find more dns servers from ISPs other than uu.net that allow outside queries. |
