In spite of the efforts of the RIAA/MPAA, "piracy" is not legal term, it's just something they adopted to make it sound sinister.

"Contributory infringment" or "infringement by inducement" is more like it. And yea, since Sweden is a signatory to the Berne Convention and recognizes copyrights, I wouldn't be surprised if it violated some Swedish law, who knows. They don't have to worry about the DMCA, but the "morons" remark may not have been the wisest thing to do, lest it encourage you-know-who to hire a swedish legal firm and look into making trouble for these guys. Kinda smacks of immaturity, if you ask me. It's just that they are virtually unenforceable.

IIRC You basically have to admit to hosting/downloading the file in order to be charged. The police can hold you for questioning for a reasonable time but short of admitting your guilt that's all they can do.
This was a couple of years ago. I don't know if things changed. I have some very good friends who are Swedes.
