Re: [Vonage] Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapter with Vonage Just of note, i was able to reset to factory settings 877778 and pressing 1 to confirm. it did not ask for any password. Also, i spoke to vonage, and they said the unit has features the MOTO MTA doesn't have, one is distinctive ringing. I mainly bought this this unit so i could use it upstairs for a 2nd phone on the same account, but Vonage saids I can't do that for two weeks. I guess they working to make it so we can add other Phone adapters to our accounts. Is it possible to register this this unit MAC ID, and then Clone it to the MOTO MTA? Would the servers think it's the PAP2 Connecting? Vonage saids no, because of encryption. Yes, the PAP2 does have a Configuration Address (a guy at vonage tech support told me I was pushing him for info. when he let that slip...lol)for now I'm gonna wait the two weeks, and if they dont have it ready to add a 2nd device to accounts, then I'll take it back. | | |
| | CORRECTION- I was asked for the password on the 2nd one to reset to factory settings (didn't know there was two until i checked again) anyways the password's probably something easy, like admin or user. (i tried em both, and neither one worked) I guess it's time to harrass vonage and force them to give me the password, or take it back and disconnect my service all togather. they're suckers when it comes to users threatening disconnecting their service. | | | In the back of the box of the PAP2, there is a phrase "With an appropriate Internet telephone service provider, you'll get clear telephone reception and reliable fax connections..." It suggests the possibility of having another provider, unfortunately it is not possible. | |
