Back on-topic, I really have no problem with the AD. If you have a problem, just create an entry for it in your trusty adblock extension!
Now that is a good joke!

This reminds me of the arguing when they removed the stars, and changed the way the button works.

They removed the stars !?!? Holy shit!

Don't forget about the whole "I see people" fiasco ! LOL

I find this all very amusing.

Bloody hell! Where are my stars???

On topic:
I use both. When traveling to distant unknown lands grasshopper, use Firefox.
Why shouldn't peeps be made aware of Firefox?
It's free, it's safe, one hell of a VOLUNTEER effort, and the darn thing works pretty well.

EDIT:
Who designed those shirts? YUK
If somebody came up with a stylish design I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Any designers in da house?

Re: Firefox

i myself find the AD uncalled for, especially with the monkier 'the browser you can trust' ... i coulda sworn there was a bunch of security flaws announced a while back.. and its funny, i have NO problems with IE ...

it would not hurt my feelings to see that AD removed!, in fact i would prefer it to be lumped under the 'no banner ads' option in the site preferences!!!

Or you could go outside and rediscover nature...

I really hope some of you people that are all worked-up over a site we all enjoy SUPPORTING AN OPEN SOURCE PROJECT don't have high cholesterol in addition to your stress-loving lifestyle.

Reminds me of those people we knew in High School...what did we call them...oh yea...Drama Queens.

In the short time its been up the image has already changed, look again, and sites that carry the 'works best in IE' don't offend me, why does it bother you?

Re: Firefox

come on now, this site rocks, why do you have to toss an ad up? You guys are cool, show us action/devotion - - just listen to the fans and drop the ad?

hmm, speaking of drama queens.

i was expressing my opinion, in an open and honest manner. i also think that a site like DSLR that many, many people come to as newbies shouldn't be supporting one browser over the other for the fact that new users may infer that the site is directed towards said browser support mainly, instead of the open-door policy that is truly in effect.

because the site is only telling the user that it works best in a certain browser, not that the site itself supports said browser. theres a diference. and i also thought that most of the 'works best in' tags went out back in HTML 2.0 days.. i havent seen many around nowadays, unless its on an older page.

(and the image still looks the same to me)

Oh come on people. It's one tiny little endorsement! It is very discreet. It took me 1/2 a day to discover it was even there.

Of all the services this site provides, this should the least of someones concerns.

You don't like it, don't click on it.
