 | quality is the question to me its all about the product quality and PS2 and xbox simply don't have it. has anyone heard any stories about gamecubes suddenly refusing to read their discs, or up and dying less than a year after they were purchased. I work in the gaming dept. at wallmart, all i do is talk GC vs PS2 and xbox all day every day, but i haven't heard one bad story about the GC, while the PS2 and xbox chapters could fill volumes, PS2 especially. my gamecube took a fall six feet off of the top of an entertainment center onto a hardwood floor(THANKS A BUNCH JASON!), but I turned it over, reset it, and we continued with our smash bro. tourney unphased. to this day all I had to do is replace the fourth port(it fell face first) and have still had no other problems. i got it the christmas after it came out. its true that nintendo's pr campaign sucked a** and was short sighted as a fleas dick, but hopefully they have realized their mistake and learned, as long as their quality stays top notch(the PSP is gonna bomb so badly because of bad quality, i can't wait, just nuclear in sony's face) and they continue with the excellent game tittles(super smash all the way) we can expect to see nintendo for a long time. the DS looks interesting, i hope it can stand up like the gameboy's proven durability, but the proof will be in the games that are released and how feasable its tie ins are. I admit that the gameboy/GC link was cool but completely unworkable, I have both FFcrystal cr. and zeld 4 swords and a gameboy, and the games do rock the house, but I'm the only one I know with a gameboy and these games are meant to be played with friends, online versions where four can party together would have been a much better alternative. as far as xbox and ps2 are concerned i own one of each and i like the fact that their controlls are more fps friendly, though GC is more comfortable, and ps2 and xbox have some great games, Halo(though I still like perfect dark on N64 best) and FF series, and xbox live is the greatest thing to happen to console games with online fighting games etc, all these are nothing if the damn thing is broken or can't read the disc! I can't afford to keep getting them fixed all the time, i'd rather go without. my ps2 controlls don't last very long while the GC are cheaper and have stood up to just as much abuse. the xbox contoller-s is ok but for halo i prefer the perfect fps controller(looks like two gun handles) as a matter of fact the disc drive in my cousin's xbox just died less than a year and a half after he bought it, now he is out another billfifty to replace it so that his games don't go to waste! like I said, its all about product quality! |
