bring it on...

there's certainly a market for this. people who hates cable but can't get satllites for whatever reason.

but how long would it take Bells to deploy ADSL2+ in first place?

soon we're gonna see lots of threads with "sync but no tv" issues.

I think it may be a good thing. Only thing is if that DSL loses sync, your TV will lose the signal as well. So in my case not sure if I would want it, though my sync problem looks like it's fixed (crossing my fingers). But hey this could very well drive Cable out of business. If people like SBC offer DSL cheaper than what Cable Providers charge for Cable Modem service, TV will likely be less as well.

It is time to bring the GREEDY Cable providers to their knees. Time Warner especially. Maybe we can then move to Ala Carte and pay for the channels that WE want, not what "They" want to give us.

just did google on adsl2+ and found this:

"downstream data rates are increased to up to 24 Mbps on phone lines as long as 3,000 feet, and 20 Mbps on lines as long as 5,000 feet."

so, FTTH is not really necessary. FTTC should be adequate for this.

i'm curious how all this would work...
STBs better come with built-in 802.11g unless running cat5 to every room is included in stardard installation.
