1 edit | I was trying to Enable UPnP from
»192.168.2.1/upnpcfg.html - upnp Configuration
the default is "disable", I want to enable UPnP because BT Bitcomet need UPnP to get faster speed. so I enable "Enable full Internet Gateway Device (IGD) support". is it the right one to enable? I don't really know what is "Enable Discovery and Advertisement only (SSDP)".
anyways, the 5200 reboot itself and after waiting 15 mins to get back online, the UPnP function in the 5200 is still disable. I tried to enable it four to five times but no success... What should I do? Did I do something wrong?
Edit: How can I setup the 5200 to be a Modem? This is a Router right? cus If it is a modem, i don't need to enable the UPnP from this 5200... am i right? |
 | Hey guys. I do realize there is a plathera of information about the port forwarding, ect ect...however, none of the seem to work for me. I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. Whenever I change my IP to match the ones in the posts, I either get disconnected completely from the net or get a 'page cannot be displayed' dialogue, forcing me to change back to 'configure IP automatically'...let me give you an example.
in Network Connections, I have two active connections open:
LAC1--SMC EZ Card PCI 10 Adapter LAC2--PPPoE Adapter
Both are connected. I tried bridging the connections as a last resort but the LAC2 claims afterwards that it is unplugged. I have tried giving both, 1 after the other and at the same time, a static IP. Nothing.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, and the solutions in other posts did not solve my problem. Sympatico claimed there was no router/firewall/point for me to port-forward on the SS 5200....but geez, all I would like to do is host some online games. I can't even do that!
I'm not sure what else to write. I'm terrible at networking, to say the least. If you may have a solution, please, post it. I'd like to try it out. And if you need more information, just ask the question and I'll try to answer it in an efficient manner.
Thanks for youtr time, folks. I have faith in your skills!
Sincerely,
Omega Zero.
PS: I don't have a router, just me, the comp and the modem. |
