More than likely the two are related, but if the DSL side reports no synch And no dial tone the telco side requests you call 611 and deal with the voice issue first.  <br><br>If you have a phone box with a test jack outside (commonly referred to around this site as a NID, but inside as an SNI), than you can take a phone to the test jack and see if you have no dial tone out at the test jack.  If you have dial tone out there but not inside then the trouble is somewhere in the house.  If you have no dial tone out there then the trouble is more than likely in the network.  <br><br>When I was a Dial Tone tech, I saw on more than one occasion where the phone causing no dial tone was used to test outside.  Led to some unhappy campers, but you do always want to test your test equipment when you get the chance or if it comes into question.  :)<br><SMALL>--<br>It truly is the lowest level where we ALL make the difference.</SMALL>]]></description>
