I bought plenty of really good metal CDs that came out this year:
Ayreon: The Human Equation Evergrey: The Inner Circle Iced Earth: The Glorious Burden Megadeth: The System Has Failed Nightwish: Once Therion: Lemuria Therion: Sirius B Threshold: Subsurface Velvet Revolver: Contraband
...and more that I can't think of at the moment...
A couple of these I consider to be among the best albums in my collection (of over 500 albums).
I think I've purchased about 40 CDs so far this year. Most are a few years old (bands that I'm just now discovering).
I've got dozens and dozens of good albums that came out in the last 3 or 4 years alone. So whomever said that no good music has been made in the past 10 years is speaking of his own personal opinion. I doubt he's really looked to see what's out there.
The point is, not everything is crap to all people. Don't let the media or the pop radio try to tell you to like whatever kind of crap music they are pushing. Go out and discover a genre of music that you agree with. Chances are that there has been new releases out there that you just might really like.
A lot of people seem to be downloading music that they claim to be crap. If it's crap, why waste your time with it at all? -- I am of the stars. I am called "Forever". Eternity courses through my veins.
reply to stet In other words music today is just like music from the past. You have good songs and good artists along with the bad. For those of you complaining about crappy music if you don't like what you hear on the radio then look elsewhere for good music. There is plenty of great artists out there.
