It's seriously to late for them...

I don't see how it is possible for aol to build a broadband infrastructure now... The only way would be reselling or if they just buy out an entire ISP (We better all hope that doesn't happen)

Yup, at the end of the day, the only ISPs out there will be the companies with broadband infrastructure (read Bells and cable companies). AOL is up the creek without a DSLAM...

Oh well, they'll die and we'll all move on.

They will ultimately be nothing more than another webmail provider and internet portal. They'll live, but they could have been much more.....

then Earthlink should be going as well? they also resell service just as AOL did.

Maybe Earthlink will die as well and no more Elink CDs

I hope earthlink won't be going! They are my internet of choice. All teh local services around here have a 4 hour time limit to dial-up connections. At least EL is 12 hours. I couldn't deal with a 4 hour limit!

they were a good provider until they went with Sprint and made their joint venture but they're mostly a reseller now and a content provider and their content sucks!
