| It's amazing How illiterate people clutter up the boards, claiming they are so smart -Looks, feels and smells like an idiot troll. Certainly no grammatical skills past grade 8. Hope CA keeps him there. Just made the people from Arkansas on this thread, appear...well, literate for lack of a better word. Some people could do with Basic Training, before venturing out into the world.
Jobs, are jobs and if that means keeping some within the borders of America, all the better.

KiwiRack, please re-read your post and if you notice nothing wrong....well, point made mmk? -------------------------------------------------------- What a genius. You just named three Arkansans that made more money than you did. (the Waltons, Don Tyson and J.B. Hunt) [There are 9 Waltons, Don Tyson lives in England, and J.B.Hunt is dead] [Yep, 3.]
While we're at it, allow me to fix your grammatical errors:
#1 "I had no problem making decent money there, I did not know another making anything near what I did (and that includes the lawyers and university professors at UofA)."
This is an example of a run-on sentence. It Should be: I had no problem making decent money there. I did not know another making anything near what I did (and that includes the lawyers and university professors at UofA). [Sorry, I hit the comma instead of the period, typos never happen in Arkansas.....right?] #2 "I already know this is yet another way to exploit the country folk in Arkansas, as Wal-Mart, Tyson foods, JB Hunt, and ButterBall already does to an extreme level."
The plurality of subjects require a singular verb:
I already know this is yet another way to exploit the country folk in Arkansas, as Wal-Mart, Tyson foods, JB Hunt, and ButterBall already do to an extreme level. [Actually 'does' is an extending verb. It denotes that this has happened, is happening, and will continue to happen. The word 'do' does not do this, it connotates that it is happening now.]
Don't bother to thank me. I am always happy to help those with reading and writing issues. [No problem, thanks. I'm certain I would have overlooked the fact that I had hit the comma instead of the period.] R. D. In any event, you're right, no need to worry about rural America, you all in California keep going the way you are, ok, with expensive office space and infrastructure, sky-rocketing housing, ever-rising business taxes and increasing regulation, not to mention the cheap immigration labor. Let's face, we in rural America can never compete with all that, especially if the goal of businesses is to hire intellectuals, not make money... -- It's easy to conclude you're right if you never listen to the other side. -John Breaux | | | reply to Thorax1 said by Thorax1:...and J.B.Hunt is dead I talked to J.B. a couple of weeks ago. He didn't even mention that he was dead. But, I must bow to your superior intellect (being an all-knowing Southern Californian) and inform J.B. that he is dead.
Thanks for the information. It only enhances your stature as the towering intellect that you are, here, at DSLReports. | | awax join:2000-09-25 Fayetteville, AR | reply to Thorax1 said by Thorax1:Arkies always kill me with ..... umm, ok, they amuse me. Besides the "Big One" is coming soon, so it will soon be the "Lost city of Los Angeles." Hope you got a life jacket. | | wolfoxGentle Wolfox join:2002-11-27 Dunnellon, FL | Careful there, buckaroo. The San Madrid fault is overdue for a crack. The last time it yawned and stretched, the Mississippi river flowed backwards for 3 days up to the last, massive 8.5'er. In an area where the homes and buildings are made to withstand high winds from tornadoes - they do not stand up well at all to earthquakes. (Rigid, non-moving infrastructure vs. flexible, sometimes "Disconnected" floating foundations) We're on borrowed time just like our Left Coast cousins. -- Nothwest Arkansas' ONLY all Techno Radio Webcast, powered by SBC DSL! | |
