newsgroups

when are people gonna realize kazaa and these other programs where you upload the file is just asking for trouble. Newsgroups are the way to go... $15 a month for all the movies (dvdr, divx, svcd), tv shows, games, software, and porn you can handle at blazing fast speeds. And since currently they only sue people who upload the files you won't get sued. That and the fact that no logs are kept by most reputable newsgroup providers.

Yes... I was thinking of making a move to Newsgroups and paying for the subscribtion. Which means i'll have to get a new HDD and a dvd-burner to be able to keep up with my 600 kB/s+ connection

I agree whole-heartedly. The newsgroups are probably the best resource for just about anything. But for those that don't wanna invest the time into usenet or don't have the high speed internet capacity....there's an even better (and safer) way to get your movies. Subscribe to Netflix...(17.95 a month) and you can get as many as 15-20 movies in a given month (3 at a time)...copy and burn them....(CLONEDVD + ANYDVD)....and return them. I'd be willing to bet that the costs would be comparable. With the newsgroup method, you're looking at ISP costs, Usenet provider costs, a DVD burner, and of course DVD discs. With Netflix, all you need is just the burner and the discs. Not to mention Netflix provides a much better selection of movies (in my opinion)

I use Netflix to make copy's of DVD's I can't find online, but you still have to wait for it to be released on DVD. You can use Newsgroups to get movies not yet released, as well as music, software, games, etc. Both are illegal, but then again, so are price gouging/fixing and bribing congress to extend the life of copyrights.
