Who would even think of a political system where the people actually get to express their opinion and decide on issues?
The people elected George Bush - obviously we should not trust the people to decide who should be president.
The people decided they didn't want fiber in their future (sounds like a dietary supplement) - again obviously not a decision to be trusted the the people.
What a bunch of whiners. If you are so opposed to the democratic process, move to a non-democratic country.
